ME Time at Ace Water Spa

Being a woman with many roles is exhausting. I am a mother who needs to teach my child lessons and projects because learning should not start and end at school, but also a wife who needs to think and plan meals, and manage household tasks, and an employee who needs to hit the target metrics and finish deadline. Not to mention the projects in the community organization I am also handling. Lastly, the church activities/teachings/assemblies we needed to attend too are as important as well.

Too many duties, right? It’s draining to be juggling many plates in your two hands at the same time. So once in a while, a Me-Time is really a MUST.

Massage is good, really good. But if you wanna try another option, check ACE WATER SPA.
It is a Hydrotherapy massage, quoting the definition from their website.

“Hydrotherapy massage – is a kind of therapeutic massage that utilizes an “Ultrasonic Jet System” that massages specific areas of the body with its aquatic jets strategically located to relax and soothe tired and aching muscles. This treatment is best done in heated water. These push-of-a-button equipment are categorized as soft, moderate, and hard massages. Because of these, the customers are assured of the same consistent experience, unlike manual hand massages wherein every visit may be a different experience due to different factors. For example, a masseuse who offers hard massages may not be as strong as before because he is already tired. Moreover, the massage systems, being “do-it-yourself” type, gives the customer the freedom to decide which water equipment to use and which part of his body needs more attention.”

They have two (2) branches, in Pasig and Quezon City, and are open from 6:00 am – 10:00 pm. Entrance only costs ₱ 600.00 for adults and ₱ 300.00 for kids. Each session is valid for 4 hours. The good thing is that you can find discounted prices at Star Deals, Metro Deals, Klook, and other ticketing websites.

There are also four (4) different Hot Herbal Pools ranging from 34 degrees, 36 degrees, 38 degrees, and 40 degrees. You must dip in the cold pool, or take a shower to keep your temperature and heart rate at a healthy level. Anyway, there is an instruction posted near the hot pool so don’t forget to check it out.

Aside from that, there is also a Dry Sauna and Steam Room available. There is a water dispenser with a cup for free consumption in case you get thirsty.

Wait, there’s more, if you want to bring your family and kids, there is also a pool for kids. Or if you are the athlete type, there is an Olympic pool accessible. Staff guards the place at all times to keep accidents from happening.

Now that you already know the amenities, you have to prepare your attire. Ace Water Spa is very strict when it comes to the proper attire. They required spandex swimwear, no cotton. If you happen to forget your attire, no worries because they also have rentals.

Once you arrive at the Ace Water Spa, you need to pay or present your voucher at the counter. They accept cash, debit, or credit cards. They will be giving you a tray, which consists of a key tag for your locker, and a swimcap. The locker room also serves as a changing room and shower room and is separated by gender. The kids can enter any room with their guardian or parents. They also provide a shower gel, shampoo, and a plastic bag for your wet clothes. Before, they provided a hair blower in the female locker room but the last time I was there, it was not available. The key tag should be worn on your wrist to avoid losing it and avoid penalty.

You can really enjoy and pamper yourself since gadgets are not allowed inside the area. You can leave your phones in your locker.

Furthermore, food is not allowed inside the premises. So you better make sure you’re full because it’s hard to relax when you’re hungry 😅. In their Pasig branch, there are stores outside their hotel building such as Starbucks, 7-11, Goldilocks, and also Watsons. Ace Water Spa offers a buffet, accommodation, and events place, too.

Our experience with Ace Water Spa has always been good other than those times that the place can be slightly crowded at weekends or holidays. Overall, we will be going back to Ace Water Spa again.

Experience – ★★★★★
Cost – ★★★
Accessibility – ★★★★★
Staff – ★★★★

On final thought, our sanity is vital to be able to keep up with our daily responsibilities. If you can afford the luxuries of getting a good massage or pampering yourself at Ace Water Spa, do it, reward yourself, because you also deserve it. But if not, enjoying a quiet time with a book, or a cup of coffee, or sleeping an extra hour can be your ME TIME too.

Your goal is to sensibly take the much-needed time out to recharge, be with your thoughts, process your feelings and anxieties, and be your own confidant. No matter how long or expensive that is, what’s important is that you are really enjoying and being with yourself that very moment.

Bear in mind that, you can’t pour from an empty cup. So take care of yourself Momma 😘

Love Lots,

Special Science Schools

As a parent, we want to provide the best education we can give to our children without us drowning in debt. And choosing their quality education is one of the hardest jobs a parent has to do.

I am a public student graduate from Elementary to High School and then went to a State University during college. I came from a humble family in Cebu. My father was a farmer/miner and my mother was a housewife, that was before they separated when I was in Grade 2. Way back then, schools in the province are far away. With mouths to feed, it was practical to send us to the nearest school in town, which was almost 4 kilometers from our home. Despite coming from public schools, I grew up a good student. I was a consistent top-notcher and graduated with flying colors.

Now that inflation is soaring like a rocket, parents need to consider if enrolling their children in private schools is sustainable. We wanted to provide a good education without ruining our budget.

Look for Special Science Schools in your City or Area. Special Science Schools are still public schools but provide better training and/or education than public schools. A Special Science Elementary Schools (SSES) is a science-oriented schools that consist of Special Education (SPED) Centers, with programs for the gifted and the talented.

“SSES is a project of the Department of Education designed to provide enriched curriculum for Mathematics and Science where gifted and talented learners are provided a venue and exposure to develop their aptitude and skills. Such schools are appropriately-equipped with laboratory rooms, science apparatuses and equipment, ICT-based learning resources as well as Science, Math and English textbooks and supplementary materials. The SSES curriculum provides longer instruction time in Science. For Grades 1 to 3, instruction time is 70 minutes. For Grades 4 to 6, it is 80 minutes. The school head or teacher may further enrich the curriculum if they feel it is necessary to address the needs of the pupils.”

If you graduated from a Special Science Elementary School, you will likely be moving on to a Special Science High School. And again, we are blessed that we also have a Special Science High School in Mandaluyong City.

Although, unlike the Special Science Elementary Schools which don’t have entrance qualifications and examinations, the Special Science High Schools have strict qualifications. Before you can enroll, you have to pass their written examination and their interview, additionally, you’re grades before graduating elementary should meet their standard.

In Mandaluyong, we have the City of Mandaluyong Science High School (CMSHS) which is located at 739 E. Pantaleon St., Brgy. Hulo, Mandaluyong City. Students from CMSHS are called BATMANs, meaning Batang MandSci.

Here are the qualifying grounds for enrolling in the City of Mandaluyong Science High School (CMSHS) : *Graduating elementary pupils with an average grade of 85% and above in each of the major subjects (English, Mathematics and Science) and 83% in each of the subjects during the first and second quarters; *Parents must be bonafide residents of Mandaluyong City; and *Must possess good moral character.

For additional information, here is the link to their website (https://cmshs.depedmandaluyong.org/news-and-events).

If there are no available Science High Schools in your place, look for Laboratory High School. A Laboratory High (LabHigh) School is a school operated by a college or university. A few examples are the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Laboratory High School and Rizal Technological University Laboratory High School.

In the end, education is a partnership between students-parents-teacher. Private schools and public schools have their own advantage and disadvantages. No matter what your school is, may it private or public, the result will actually depend on the student itself.

Let us also not forget that no matter whether our kids have a high-quality education, the values they have as a person are the most important thing they can carry throughout their lives.

Love Lots,
